About FascinAsian Film Festival: The FascinAsian Film Festival is a culturally specific film festival based in the Prairie region of Canada. The festival celebrates Asian contributions to the film and media landscape and aims to showcase the talents of Asian-Canadian and AsianAmerican artists in film. We also hope to give local filmmakers and film professionals another place to connect with each other and gather as a community. FascinAsian is inclusive and open to audiences of all backgrounds and looks forward to sharing these stories and experiences with all members of society. FascinAsian is volunteer-run and depends on a combination of grants from public arts funders and contributions from corporate sponsors, as well as revenue generated from ticket and pass sales in order to operate.
Role Summary: As a Videographer for the FascinAsian Film Festival, your primary role is to film the Q&A discussions, panel sessions, and other key moments throughout the event. Your work will help document and promote the festival while engaging audiences online.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality video footage of Q&A sessions, panel discussions, and other scheduled events.
- Create compelling video content, including daily recap videos, shorts, and reels, for promotional purposes.
- Upload edited video content to the festival’s shared media folder to be used the next day.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure essential moments are captured.
Requirements:
- Experience in videography, preferably in event coverage.
- Access to your own video recording equipment.
- Familiarity with video editing software.
- Strong ability to focus on capturing clear audio and visuals in live settings.
Availability:
- Must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts over the four days of the festival (May 1-4, 2025).
- Shifts are typically 4-6 hours long and may include evenings.
